Privacy Policy — Tennis Tournament Lens

Tennis Tournament Lens is a browser extension that adds a registration panel to tournament result cards on playtennis.usta.com. This page explains exactly what it handles and what it does not.

The short version

• No accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no tracking, no telemetry.
• The extension talks to one server: playtennis.usta.com, the site you are already on.
• Nothing about you or the players you look at is sent to the developer or to any third party.
• Player names are held in memory only, for a few minutes, and cleared when you close the browser.

What the extension reads

When you hover a tournament result card, the extension asks USTA’s own public endpoint for that tournament’s registration data. The response contains, per division:

• the event name, gender and age group
• how many players are entered, accepted into the main draw, or waitlisted
• each player’s name, their Singles World Tennis Number (WTN), and their city and state

All of this is data USTA already publishes on its own tournament pages. The extension does not request birth dates, postal addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, or USTA account identifiers, and it does not attempt to access anything that requires signing in.

What the extension stores

chrome.storage.session is held in memory and is never written to disk.

What the extension sends

One request, to playtennis.usta.com, containing a GraphQL query and a tournament id. No cookies are attached to it — the request is made with credentials: "omit" — so USTA cannot link these lookups to your browsing session through its analytics identifiers.

The extension contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, and no remote code. Everything it runs ships inside the extension package.

Third parties

None. No data is sold, shared, transferred, or disclosed to anyone. There is no server operated by the developer.

Children’s privacy

The extension displays the names of junior players because USTA already displays them publicly on its tournament pages, and a parent deciding whether to enter a tournament needs to see who else is entered. The extension does not build profiles, keep records, or transmit this information anywhere. It is discarded when the browser closes.

This extension is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the United States Tennis Association. “USTA” is used only to describe the website the extension works with.
